The Eastbourne Property Market

Eastbourne is one of the most active coastal property markets in East Sussex, with a distinctive Victorian character and a more accessible price point than comparable south coast towns.

Eastbourne (BN21) is a seaside town in East Sussex, situated on the south coast of England approximately 65 miles south of London. The Grand Hotel Eastbourne, a Grade II* listed Victorian hotel opened in 1875 on King Edward's Parade, is one of the most recognisable buildings on the south coast and considered one of the finest examples of Victorian hotel architecture in England. Eastbourne Pier, a Grade II listed Victorian pleasure pier extending 300 metres into the English Channel, has stood at the centre of the town's seafront since 1872. Beachy Head, a chalk headland on the South Downs approximately 3 miles west of Eastbourne town centre, is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain at 162 metres. The Seven Sisters, a series of chalk cliffs between Seaford Head and Birling Gap immediately west of Eastbourne, are among the most photographed coastal landscapes in England and a defining image of the South Downs National Park, which surrounds and adjoins the town to the north and west.

Sovereign Harbour, a marina and residential development on the eastern edge of Eastbourne, was developed from the 1990s onwards and provides modern waterfront apartments and houses with direct marina access. It is one of the largest marina developments on the south coast of England.
