Mayfair and the wider W1 area contains some of the highest property values in central London. Many transactions involve larger loan amounts, complex income structures, or property types that fall outside standard high street lender criteria. Whether you are looking for a mortgage broker or mortgage advisor in Mayfair, the approach matters: whole-of-market access rather than a restricted panel.

Woodhall Mortgages is a whole-of-market mortgage broker. We are not restricted to a single lender or a limited panel. We work with buyers across Mayfair, Marylebone, Soho and the wider W1 area, considering mortgages from across the market, subject to lender criteria and product availability.

Everything is done by phone, video, or email. No meetings needed. The lender access and advice quality are the same for a buyer in Mayfair as for a client anywhere else. Call 01422 354011 or fill in the form below.

Mortgage Broker Mayfair and Marylebone: Services We Offer

We assist with the full range of mortgage types relevant to buyers, movers, remortgage applicants and landlords across W1, Marylebone, Soho and the wider central London area.

Residential purchase

From a Georgian townhouse near Berkeley Square to a lateral apartment on Park Lane. We identify lenders suited to the property type, purchase price and your income profile.

Remortgage Mayfair

Fixed rate ending or looking to release equity. We search the full market and manage the switch to your new deal, subject to lender criteria and product availability.

Buy to let W1

Purchasing or remortgaging a buy-to-let property in Mayfair or Marylebone. We advise on lender criteria, rental yield requirements and product options for central London investment properties.

First-time buyer Mayfair

We explain deposit requirements, lender eligibility and guide you from decision in principle to offer. Given W1 property values, many first-time buyers here purchase smaller flats.

High value property

W1 properties frequently fall outside standard lender criteria. We identify specialist and private bank lenders for larger loan amounts, subject to your individual circumstances and lender assessment.

Self-employed

Many Mayfair buyers have complex income structures. We identify self-employed mortgage lenders whose assessment approach fits your situation.

The Mayfair Property Market

Mayfair is one of central London's most established residential areas, forming part of the City of Westminster.

Mayfair covers the W1J and W1K postcode districts, bounded by Oxford Street to the north, Regent Street to the east, Piccadilly to the south and Park Lane to the west. Georgian townhouses, purpose-built mansion blocks, lateral conversions and larger residential properties on and around the garden squares define the streetscape. Berkeley Square is the most recognisable address in the area, with Grosvenor Square and Mount Street making up the western and central residential core. Shepherd Market provides a quieter pocket within W1, with independent shops and restaurants distinct from the surrounding commercial streets.

Bond Street and New Bond Street provide luxury retail connections running north towards Marylebone. Savile Row runs through the middle of this area, flanked by the streets between Bond Street and Regent Street that have always attracted tailors, galleries and creative businesses. Park Lane, the western boundary, runs alongside Hyde Park and is home to high-value residential towers and hotel conversions. Transport connections include Green Park and Hyde Park Corner on the Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria lines, with Bond Street providing Central and Jubilee line access.

Marylebone (W1U), immediately north, is a different feel to core Mayfair. The High Street has independent shops, restaurants and a genuine neighbourhood quality that the main W1 streets lack. Victorian mansion blocks and period terraces attract doctors, consultants and professionals who want central London without the full W1J price tag. Soho (W1D/W1F) is primarily commercial but has a scattered residential population in converted buildings. Both areas sit in the W1 postcode and share the same transport connections.

Property values in W1 vary across the postcode, but most fall well above standard high street lender thresholds. Larger loan amounts and complex income structures are common here, which is where a whole-of-market search makes a practical difference.

Areas We Cover Around Mayfair

We advise clients across all parts of Mayfair and the adjacent central London areas. Our advice is not restricted to any single postcode or neighbourhood.

Mayfair (W1J/W1K)

The core Mayfair postcodes. Georgian townhouses, mansion blocks and garden square properties around Berkeley Square, Grosvenor Square and Park Lane. Typically from around £1m upwards for a one-bedroom flat.

Marylebone (W1U)

Immediately north of Mayfair. Victorian mansion blocks, period terraces and Marylebone High Street. A slightly wider price range than core W1, popular with professionals and families.

Soho (W1D/W1F)

Primarily commercial but with residential conversions throughout. Strong central London transport links and a distinct character. Generally more accessible price points within the W1 district.

Knightsbridge (SW1X)

Immediately south of Hyde Park and adjacent to Mayfair. High-value apartments and townhouses close to Harrods. Some of the highest per-square-foot prices in London.

Belgravia (SW1X)

Stucco townhouses and formal garden squares directly south of Mayfair. Larger period properties, minimal new development and a very particular kind of quiet that central London rarely delivers.

St James's (SW1Y)

Between Mayfair and St James's Park. Mansion flats, period conversions and proximity to Green Park. Quieter than core Mayfair and often slightly more accessible.

We also cover the wider central and west London area including Chelsea, Kensington, Fulham and Wimbledon.

What Does a Mortgage Advisor in Mayfair Do?

A mortgage advisor or mortgage broker in Mayfair assesses your income, deposit and circumstances, researches lenders across the full market, and recommends suitable products. In a market like W1, that often includes identifying whether a specialist or private bank lender is more appropriate than a high street option. Here are the questions we are most commonly asked.
